We believe in data minimization. We only collect the absolute minimum information required to manage your subscription and provide our services. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

Information We Collect

1. Personal Information (Account Data)

When you upgrade to Grabbit Premium, we collect your email address.

  • Purpose: To verify your subscription status, identify your account across devices, and manage your monthly usage credits.
  • Storage: Your email is stored securely in our WordPress database and managed via ExtensionPay, our authentication and payment service provider.

2. Usage Data

We track your interaction with our AI features to manage service limits.

  • Data Points: Number of AI credits consumed (e.g., number of comparisons or summaries generated).
  • Purpose: To enforce monthly quota limits associated with your subscription plan.

3. Payment Information

We do not collect or store your credit card numbers or financial details.

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor, facilitated by ExtensionPay.
  • Stripe handles all sensitive payment data (credit card number, expiration date, CVC). We only receive a confirmation of payment and subscription status (e.g., Stripe Customer ID).

4. Content Data (Transient)

To provide key features like Product Comparison and AI Summaries (Web & YouTube), the extension must process the content of the pages you select.

  • How it works: When you trigger an AI feature, the text content of the selected tabs is sent to our secure backend (https://grabbit.socratisp.com).
  • Processing: Our backend relays this content to OpenRouter, our AI provider, to generate the result.
  • Storage: This data is transient. We do not permanently store the text content of the webpages or videos you analyze. It is used solely for the immediate purpose of generating the requested summary or comparison and is discarded after processing.

Local Storage

Grabbit stores your preferences locally on your browser using Chrome’s Storage API.

  • Data Stored: User settings (e.g., preferred highlight color, key combinations, exclusion filters).
  • Access: This data remains on your device and is not sent to our servers.

Third-Party Services

We perform purely necessary data transfers to the following trusted third-party services:
